Love

Love

Give not thy love to the warmest, but the coldest thing,
For ’tis coldness that needs comfort.
Expect not gratitude, for coldness in numb,
But give such love that the cold is burned with it;
for coldness knows only pain.
And it melts, let it pool, clean and clear in your palm,
For it will be anew.
